Tribute to ABBA

  Betty Wright was an American soul and R&B singer, songwriter, and background vocalist who is best known for her hits "Clean Up Woman" and "Tonight Is the Night" . She was active in the music industry from the late 1960s until the late 1990s. It is likely that Betty Wright never sang backup behind ABBA because she was a soul and R&B singer, while ABBA was a pop group. Additionally, ABBA was active in the music industry between 1972 and 1982, which was before Betty Wright's peak years.

  Michelle Cobbs and Fonzi Thornton , added singers from American disco band Chic , would not become backup singers behind ABBA on "On And On And On" because the song was released in 1980, a year after the release of Chic's third album, "Risqué" . Additionally, the two singers did not become a part of ABBA until 1982, when they both joined the group as full-time members. Therefore, they would not have been available to be backup singers on "On And On And On".

  Cindy Bullens was not asked to sing backup on ABBA 's 7th album, "Super Trouper" . She was not invited to sing backup on their album from 1980, which is a year after her second album, "Steal the Night" , because the group was not interested in working with outside vocalists at the time. ABBA typically recorded all their own backing vocals and were not looking to collaborate with other artists.  Neither all of the ABBA members hired Miss Bullens, born in West Newbury, Massachussetts, as backup singer to sing backup on the song title, because the group was already working with another female singer, Agnetha Fältskog . Agnetha had been the lead singer on ABBA's first four albums and had also provided backing vocals for the group's prior albums. ABBA had a long-standing working relationship with Agnetha and decided to keep her as the backing vocalist for "Super Trouper."

Rhythm & Blues singer Evelyn King , who cut 2 Rhythm & Bluesy disco records of "Shame" and "I Don't Know If It's Right" , where she sounded like a cross between 2 female rhythm & blues singers Dorothy Moore and Barbara Lynn , likely is not interested in the music of ABBA from the early '80s because it is a different genre and style than the one she is used to. Rhythm and Blues has a deep soulful sound that is not present in the music of ABBA, which is more pop and upbeat. Additionally, Evelyn King has been making music for many years and is used to producing music with a certain sound and style so anything outside of that is likely not appealing to her. Evelyn King and ABBA have nothing in common because Evelyn King is an American R&B singer and ABBA is a Swedish pop group. Evelyn King is known for her music in the disco, R&B and soul genres, while ABBA is known for their pop music. They are both popular musicians, but their styles...

  Johnny Nash and Doris Troy were both American soul singers, and their music style and sound was distinctively different from the pop sound of ABBA . The two styles are quite different and would not likely blend well together, so it would be difficult for the two singers to back up ABBA on "He Is Your Brother" . Additionally, the two singers, who backed up Bob Marley & The Wailers on "Gonna Get You" ,  were not typically known for their backing vocals, so they may not have had the technical skills necessary to provide backing vocals for ABBA.
